This grove has been established for the Cognitive Science Society as a means to offset carbon emissions incurred by hosting the Society’s annual conference and associated activities. Attendees can offset carbon emissions produced as a result of their professional activities either directly from this page or when registering for the conference (see https://cognitivesciencesociety.org/). The Cognitive Science Society welcomes donations to the CogSci Grove from anyone who feels a connection to the society or who would simply like to give.
It takes three easy steps:
1- Calculate the carbon emissions you would like to offset by using a carbon emissions calculator. Access one by clicking here. Once you have done that, please go to step 2.
2- Once you have your emissions in tonnes, calculate the number of trees needed to offset the emissions. To do so, use this simple formula:
1 tree fixes 0.25-0.5 tonnes of carbon (if you want to learn more about this formula, click here)
3- Once you know how many trees you need to plant to offset your carbon emissions, add the trees to The CogSci Grove by clicking here. It is only £6 per tree!
