Add trees to the Imperial College CSB grove

This grove has been created in partnership with Trees For Life (TfL) for the Imperial College Centre for Structural Biology staff and students to offset their carbon emissions and for its members to offset centre’s activities. It takes three easy steps:

1- Calculate the carbon emissions you would like to offset by using a carbon emissions calculator. Access one by clicking here. Once you have done that, please go to step 2.

2- Once you have your emissions in tonnes, calculate the number of trees needed to offset the emissions. To do so, use this simple formula:

1 tree fixes 0.25-0.5 tonnes of carbon (if you want to learn more about this formula, click here)

3- Once you know how many trees you need to plant to offset your carbon emissions, add the trees to the Imperial College CSB grove by clicking here. It is only £6 per tree!

If your budget is tight, plant fewer trees! If you wish, contribute more! Add as many trees you can afford!

Trees are planted by Trees for Life in batches in Spring and Autumn. The “Grove” refers to the trees you contribute rather than a specific physical grove on a hillside. However, all trees will be planted in the Scottish Highlands either in Glen Affric (a picture of which is shown on our website front page) or in Trees For Life’s Dundreggan Estate. TfL runs a volunteers programme and some of your trees will be planted by volunteers, but also by professionals.
