Lobby your Employer

Whether you are a scientist or a researcher working at universities, research organisations, industries, biotechs, venture capital firms, patent lawyer firms, or science publishing companies, there is a chance you might be able to persuade your company or institutions that they should cover your costs of carbon offsetting. There is a simple reason for that: it is something any organisation or any company might actually be proud about. It is a sign of good governance. It is a sign that the institution or company cares about the future of our planet, of our children. it is a positive message to send. So please ask your employers whether they will contribute. For every tonne of carbon emitted, ask them to contribute 2 to 4 trees at a cost of about £6 per tree. It is low cost but has a big impact!
