Our Goals

All Things Small and Green is an environmental charity set up to direct funds toward carbon mitigation projects that aim to create carbon sinks for carbon capture through afforestation and restoration of natural forest habitats.

Tree planting as a carbon mitigation tool: why?

Excessive carbon emissions are a real threat to everything we hold dear in our lives: our health, our jobs, our way of life, and our outdoors. Thousands are dying from poor air quality, rising seas, and extreme weather. Our natural environment is rapidly deteriorating from poor consumption habits, from insufficient awareness of the damages that apparently simple everyday acts may cause, and from lack of engagement in solving broader environmental issues. Yet, there are very simple ways of mitigating carbon emissions: why not planting trees? A tree fixes 0.5 tons of carbon over its lifetime. So, here, at All Things Small and Green, we decided to do this on a massive scale: we would like to help create carbon sinks, but not “stupid” carbon sinks, but carbon sinks that respect nature, its diversity, and its beauty. That’s why our efforts are focused on NATIVE afforestation and restoration of NATIVE forested habitats.

Scientist and academics, offset your carbon emissions

Because, at All Things Small and Green, we are primarily academics and scientists, we seek to raise awareness of and initiate actions to reduce carbon emissions caused by  academic travelling.
