Stainless steel containers have two purposes: 1- they are great for picnics; they are odourless and incredibly durable. So they also work for travelling and taking/carrying your lunch in hikes, rides, and walks, or simply to work. 2- Also, they can play a part in combating food waste. Exposure of food to the plastic contained in most food containers (Tupperware for example) is not too good for your health. Also, infuriatingly, I have found plastic container lids to fall apart quite rapidly. Moreover, plastic containers themselves don’t last very long and do not undergo cycles of freezing and thawing in and out of the freezer. In contrast, a stainless steel container will last for ever and is 100% recyclable.
